Teapacks was formed in 1988, when Gal Peremen and Kobi Oz met at a Kibbutz in southern Israel. The two began playing Kobi’s original songs, and were later joined by other musicians from local Kibbutzim and the city of Sderot.

Her sound has been cultivated by her Hasidic music background and a series of trips to the Middle East, Africa, Israel, Egypt, Central Africa, Turkey, Kurdistan and Greece.

Rick performs regularly at the clubs in New York such as the Sidewalk Cafe, Comic Strip Live, Sal’s comedy Hole, the Laugh Lounge, and Comix.

Laurie was born and raised in a dull Northern California suburb. A former competitive swimmer (she swam for UCLA), Laurie made the switch from pool to stage in the early nineties during San Francisco’s comedy boom, and then headed for New York.

By reimagining ancient, pre-inquisition Spanish melodies as contemporary songs, DeLeon intends to introduce the rich musical tradition of Sephardic Jews to a new generation.
Paul Mecurio graduated with high honors from Georgetown Law School and began his career on Wall Street. All the while, Paul was honing a secret, second career writing and performing comedy in New York City.
